The soup is not original,the chefs in the kitchen are not Asians ,so you know,so the PHO soup has strong taste of raw beef. The soup is the spirit of the PHO. So I don’t recommend. It is more like a Bar.
I was really excited to try out Clay Pot but I ended being disappointed. We ordered the Ca Kho Mam and the Beef Pepper Steak. The Ca Kho Mam was made with cod. It was flaky but tasteless. It has no flavor that is reminiscent of Vietnamese braised dishes in clay pots. The Beef Pepper Steak was over cooked, as in well-done. It was on the charred side. It should be more on the medium to medium rare side. Since I returned the Ca Kho Mam, I ordered the Pho with Meatballs. The pho broth had too much star anise flavor and was on the sweet side. The meatballs were good. I realize that everyone makes their food differently but it should still have the traditional taste of Vietnamese food. The service was good however, just not the food.
Date of occurrence: 21st of September, 2024Food:The food was absolutely lovely to taste, I ordered a pork chop with egg fried rice, whilst my girlfriend ordered a boy of curry and vegetables with cauliflower rice. The pork chop came with an omelette on top, which added a nice extra texture to the meat. The vegetables are what you expect of cooked vegetables; nothing surprising, but just fine. The curry was rich in taste, especially with the subtle kick of Asian spices mixed into.Drinks:I ordered creamy hot tea with Chrysanthemum, whilst my girlfriend ordered iced Vietnamese coffee. The tea, coming in a small tea pot with a small tea cup, was delicately delightful. I found the after taste to be quite quaint, though if you like cups, then I recommend asking for a cup because otherwise you'll get a Lilliputian tea cup that requires baby sips. The coffee, as my girlfriend detailed, had a strong caffeine after taste, but the initial taste was pleasant. The aroma of the coffee, as she detailed, was also pleasant. The taste of the coffee got better once the ice melted.Atmosphere:The atmosphere was pleasant, but nothing unwonted. It is the usual one can expect in Texas, as long as you aren't causing a scene, or being disruptive.Service:I was swift to become cognizant that the staff team was on the short end for the day. Three people running what looked like a Lilliputian bar, reception, taking orders, checking on customers, cleaning, etc. For this, I am content with the wait time. It took maybe 10 or 15 minutes, but with the hassle of being short-staffed, it is important to be considerate of this fact. The staff are friendly and patient, as long as you don't test their buttons or make a scene of course.
Great new remodel. The place looks great. Chris was our waiter and he was friendly and prompt. Great service. The Pho with brisket was great. The broth was very soothing. Like a hug from the inside. The chicken fried rice was very good and unlike some places they do use egg and you can see it. Overall everything was great!
Really nice staff. Let us try the sake first before ordering it. Food was delicious and a good size portion. Little bummed the Spicy Broccoli didn't have much broccoli in it. But that about the only negative. Highly recommend.
